Center Point Scope Review

Most people have probably noticed the center point scope line of shooting optics in a Wal-Mart Supercenter. They are located in the sports and outdoors section next to all of the other hunting and shooting supplies. If you have found this page, then you are more than likely looking for some information on this rifle scope. Quite frankly, I am going to be the gopher for this little review as I have already purchased a center point scope and field tested it on my rifle. i have owned just about every type of scope there is out there, or at least many of the name brand optics and can therefore give some decent insight regarding the quality of this specific brand of hunting optic. As many of you notices, the price is really low. That factor will place a great deal of doubt in many people’s mind, but that is why I am here to save the day. I will hopefully be able to answer many questions that you people may have and also clear up some doubts along the way.

Center Point 4-16x Rifle Scope

The Good

First of all, I like this particular scope because it is cheap, zooms in to 16x magnification, clear, sturdy, and reliable so far. As for the scopes ability to withstand the recoil of a high powered rifle - all I can say is wow. I mounted it on my Sako 7mm magnum, which is a very expensive scope by the way. I usually don’t put a cheap scope on such an expensive rifle, but it worked out really well in this particular situation. I was planning on using the scope for my .17 HMR in case it didn’t work out. As I stated earlier, I own many rifles and many scopes. My other Sako has a Zeiss on it, so there is a lot to compare. So, the good is that this is a cheap rifle scope. It is clear and was able to withstand the recoil of a 7mm magnum, which is a more powerful than the majority of deer hunting rifles. I’ve had it on that gun for a year now, shot it over a hundred times, and have killed three deer with it. After all of that time it is still accurate and holding great groups at one hundred yards. Overall, I am really satisfied with the purchase. It has gotten the job done and saved the old bank account several hundred dollars as most Nikons, Leupolds, and Zeiss scopes will cost consumers hundreds more. This scope’s crosshairs also light up in the colors red and green. It also comes with a flip up scope cover as well.

The Bad

Here are the only negatives I have noticed with the center point 4-16x rifle scope. The turrets are a bit different than the majority of scopes. Rather than having a cap that screws on and off, it has a ring that tightens thus locking the turrets in place. After making adjustments, simply tighten the dials with the Allen wrench that comes with the package and tighten the rings to ensure your adjustments stay the way you want them. Like I said, I have not had any problems with this aspect of the scope. I just thought it was a bit odd. The other part of the scope that I didn’t necessarily like isn’t very accurate because I am spoiled. Because the glass in a Zeiss scope is so much better, it gathers much more light and allows hunters to see better in low light conditions. But Like I said, that’s comparing a seven hundred dollar scope to a one hundred dollar scope. With that said, it is still able t collect enough light to see in low light conditions. After writing this center point scope review, I think that it is pretty honest to say that ir was well worth the money. Thanks for reading this rifle scope review and feel free to leave any comments or questions.
