The Perfect Glass Latte or Cappuccino Cup
71I recently purchased a Nescafe dolce gusto creativa and have since been on the hunt for a few mugs to drink the coffee that this machine produces. However, the search was quite arduous. I didn’t have a single clue about them other than the fact that the Nescafe pods produce specialty coffee’s in the 4 to 8 ounce range. So one would guess that finding a glass of this volume would be easy, right? Well it is “quite” easy if you are not a deal hunter like I am. I could have just bought a bodum double wall, 10 oz. glass mug and been done with it. I needed to find a deal so I went to searching the net. I wanted a glass cup of ten ounces or less. The reasoning for the size is that, as I mentioned before, the volume of the drinks is up to eight ounces. You see, with a sixteen ounce cup, the latte macchiato would only fill it up half way and who wants a half full beverage? I don’t. Having a smaller oz. mug that is full is much more enjoyable in my opinion. Also, the smaller and taller the glass, the thicker and more beautiful the layers will show in drinks like latte macchiato. If you aren’t interested in going through the work of searching the depths of the web, then you may want to try one of the glasses below at amazon. The bodum double wall glass cup and the luigi bormioli duo 10 oz. glass are among the most respected cups on the market. I believe that both of them are around twenty dollars for a pair, which is not a bad deal at all. I was not able to find a lower price than 25 dollars with shipping anywhere on either of these two cups, but you can try.
Finding Great Deals On Glass Latte or Cappuccino Mugs
The best deal that I was a selection at sur la table. At one point, they had a variety of bodum looking glasses for under four dollars each, with the 10 ounce version for only a dollar and ninety-nine cents. Seems I was too late as usual, but they did have a 7.25 oz glass for a 1.99 I believe which would be great for espressos. However, I wanted one that could hold ten ounces of liquid.
So then my journey led me to libbey. The make glass products and are mainly aimed at the custom mug industry which people usually buy in large quantities for weddings and such. I saw them for less than two dollars each, but you had to purchase a minimum amount and I didn’t want that many. Anyways, they have an “Irish” style mug that can be purchased at crate and barrel for under two dollars that is 8 oz. I thought about getting that one, but I figured it may be to tall and that some of the foamy richness of the beverages brewed by my nescafe dolce gusto creativa would runneth over. So that was a no for the cheap irish style latte glass. The libbey ten ounce glass mug looked like a winner, but there was a problem. I could not find them for sale individually. Not anywhere could I find them in quantities of five or less. Listen to this though, for 35 bucks one could purchase a dozen of these libbey 10 oz. coffee mugs or for 25 dollars they could have two bodum or luigi bormioli. Which one would you choose? I have read that even the highly respected bodum glasses would break if you weren’t careful with them. I don’t know about you folks, but I know how rough, and careless I am and knew it wouldn’t work. I would rather have a dozen of the others for just a few more coins. Anyways, if you have read this far, then I will tell you what I ended up getting.
I remembered that dollar stores had glass mugs and cups, so I gave them a chance even though I knew it would be a long shot. I would never have guessed that I would find what I was looking for at a dollar general. I bought a ten ounce glass cappuccino mug or latte mug, an eight ounce espresso glass, and another glass cup that looks to be around fourteen ounces that I just bought for the heck of it. All three cups totaled up to three dollars. I find that pretty funny myself. They look to be high quality, but only time will tell. Thanks for reading.
